A record low score for MaherShalalHashBaz prompted an investigation…and a very interesting finding.
Zach Merrett has been emblematic of the struggles of the team this year, with scores of 23, 78 and 60. Last year he averaged 117. But today, the mystery of these low scores was put to bed with a press announcement from Zach Merrett and his brother Jackson.
Zach began by saying “As an April Fool’s Joke, I decided to let Jackson run out in my place. As expected, he didn’t score very much. But even more surprisingly, no one noticed it was him and not me”
Zach went on to explain that they decided to keep up the prank for another couple of weeks. Zach has not actually played a game this year and Jackson has had a run three times. Only, now that MaherShalalHashBaz got thrashed by the Redshins, it isn’t that funny anymore (at least to Zach’s teammates and coach)
Jackson said “It was only every going to be a harmless, one week thing. It gets so boring being a free agent that no one touches with a ten foot pole, especially when my awesome brother Zach is playing and getting to be All Australian. So I had fun and ran out there. We just kept going and kept going.”
When asked if they would ever do this sort of thing again, they both replied in unison “Yes”
Hopefully, we’ll see Zach Merrett on the field this week.
