GAME OF THE ROUND

Look, I feel obliged to pick the 2nd v 3rd matchup. It would be too cute by half to ignore it. Like someone trying to argue Hornets v Pacers is actually the most interesting game on any given night in the NBA. It’s not.

But truth be told I don’t think this is a particularly compelling game. The Soldiers should win. I think they’ve outscored the Roughnecks every round so far.

But it is 2nd v 3rd. So, can the Roughnecks pull off a win? It would be an almighty signal of intent – anything the Sparkles and Defenestrators can do, we can do too.

SNEAKY INTERESTING MATCHUP

The Vipers are near permanent residents here in sneaky town, but that’ll happen when you can beat anyone, or drop a stinker.

And look who it is alongside them! MaherShalalHashBaz, back from the foot of the ladder and looking…. real good in the middle of the park? They pushed the Defenestrators all the way last week. Can they claim a massive scalp this weekend? Don’t look now, but they’re a solitary win outside the finals…

STRAY OBSERVATION

Apologies to Threat Level Midnight v Puttanesca Chiefs, who have their own claim on Sneaky Interesting Matchup. True, the Chiefs only have the one victory. But TLM have lost 5 on the trot. The Devils have a tough game against the Sparkles, so TLM could claim their finals spot back if results go their way.

ELIMINATOR

Oooh it was close but the Sparkles fell 19 points short this week.

This week the Soldiers take on the Roughnecks, and the Defenestrators take on the cellar dwellers. But in another way, they’re taking on each other this week for…. whatever we decide is at stake here.
