Round 11 Preview

MILESTONES

Nil! We have a couple of guys on 98 games, and a couple on 48. None bringing up the milestone this week though. Feels weird.

GAME OF THE ROUND

Not too much debate here. Their clash in round 2 was a great one, with the Sparkles emerging triumphant by 26 points.

There will be a few new names featuring in this matchup, in large part due to the absences afflicting both outfits. Some star midfielders will be riding the bench for this one – Kelly, Treloar, Davies-Uniacke (and like, Crouch and Will Brodie, I guess…)

As it stands it seems there will be fierce competition for a top two spot this year. Three teams are currently 8-2, with two more on 7-3. A win for the Defenestrators would draw them level, while a win for the Sparkles would obviously give them a handy break on one of their key competitors. Both teams coming off a loss last week. Who rebounds this weekend?

SNEAKY INTERESTING MATCHUP

The Devils finally had a big break through last week, conquering the Defenestrators in one of the better victories in club history.

The Vipers had a week off last week, and are one of the aforementioned 7-3 clubs.

I think this is a great game. A Devils victory here would be ever so spicy. But the Vipers have the best “defence” in the league. I’m serious, just check out my stray observation

STRAY OBSERVATION

Seriously, look at this.

What? That’s 1,000 less points conceded than the next best “defence”

Voodoo. Voodoo I say.

Sure, they’ve played Pukekos twice, and they’re the only ones to do that. But Pukekos scored a mighty (by their standards) 1550 in round 1. It wasn’t full blown, “here-are-8-guys-go-out-and-have-fun-this-weekend-fellas” territory.

All those years of Ross-the-Boss at Fremantle, Nathan was studying. Making notes. Honing his craft. And now he’s strangling our fantasy teams each and every weekend.
