GAME OF THE ROUND

The Defenestrators had a big win in last week’s match of the round, with a kick of the football getting them over the line against the Roughnecks.

The Vipers meanwhile didn’t handle the first bye week all that well, losing big to the Sparkles.

A block is forming. The Soliders are on top with 10 wins. Then there are 3 teams all on 9 wins. Below them, smack in the middle of the ladder, are the Vipers. Two wins below the pack of three above them.

The question is which group do the Vipers belong to. The ones above? The ones below? Are they in their own group?

The result this week could help answer that question.

SNEAKY INTERESTING MATCHUP

Apologies to the Sparkles v TLM, which most of this also applies to.

I think MSHB are sneaky good. Or at least their midfield is. There are several players who can drop 120+ scores, and when you have that, you can beat anyone on their day.

More importantly though, a win here for MSHB could draw them level with TLM on the wins tally, and setup for a genuine finals push in the back half of the season.

The Roughnecks are smarting from last week’s tight loss, and will be keen to get back on the winners list and maintain their spot in that upper tier.

STRAY OBSERVATION

The tiers forming among the teams is a recurring theme of this week’s review. Four of the five matchups cleave along these lines – the top tier battling it out amongst those in the tier below. Are these the tiers for the rest of season 2023? Or is there still room to move…
