GAME OF THE ROUND
No need to over think this. It’s 1st v 2nd. It’s the textbook definition.
This matchup was the leading prediction amongst coaches for the eventual grand final, and it’d be hard for either to be fairing any better at this stage of the season.
The Sparkles got the win over the Soldiers in their first matchup, providing ample evidence supporting those pre-season predictions.
Both teams have big outs this week, but crucially both are able to field a complete 22. Can the Soldiers square the ledger?
SNEAKY INTERESTING MATCHUP
A slightly left of field selection here, given the Roughnecks v Vipers and Defenestrators v Midnight games, but I think this is a big game for the Devils and their finals aspirations. This is a game they can’t drop.
STRAY OBSERVATION
I would be remiss to not at least briefly touch on the other two games mentioned earlier.
Threat Level Midnight are well placed to claim a big scalp this week in the Defenestrators. As it stands, last year’s runner up don’t have a full 22, but TLM do…. just. Can they press that advantage?
The Roughnecks are about 70% Adelaide, which creates a problem when Adelaide aren’t playing anyone. The Vipers are 70% Fremantle. They are playing this weekend. Will it prove that simple?
