GAME OF THE ROUND

I feel like there are three very similar looking games on the card for this week, and it’s hard to split them.
So a big win last week gives MaherShalalHashBaz another go round on the game-of-the-week ride.
MSHB are in form. After 9 rounds they had just two wins, but now find themselves in 6th place and, as it stands, finals bound. The midfield is going from strength to strength. Angus Sheldrick and Matthew Johnson look fantastic. Following up a win over the Sparkles with one over the Defenestrators would be an almighty statement for this developing outfit.
And even if they don’t win, their form of late is enough to suggest MSHB will be right amongst it next season. They’re ahead of schedule here, and while I’m sure the club would love to play finals this year, everything between now and the end of the season feels like gravy for this squad.
SNEAKY INTERESTING MATCHUP

Another repeat of sorts here, I’m giving the Roughnecks game the edge over the game featuring the Soldiers. This proved a poor choice last week…
MSHB, the Devils, and Threat Level Midnight are playing musical chairs with 6th spot. Everyone gets a go.
But for the Devils, their go was a little while ago now – back after round 13. With their competitors also facing off in very tough matchups, victory here would be a real boon for their finals prospects.
For the Roughnecks, the same notes from last week largely apply yet again. They’re a game clear in second. They still need to face the Soldiers, the Sparkles, and the Defenestrators again. Their best chance of keeping second is knocking over the Defenestrators when they face-off for a third time… and winning the non-Soldiers games in the meantime.
