Worst on Ground: Round 1

As promised, no longer sponsored by Triple M, we have the worst on grounds for the week.

Same rules as MMM used to do – no rookies allowed to be nominated, and no overall leaderboard. It’s a week by week, let’s have fun with it experience.

During rounds, I’m always keen to receive nominations from coaches around their own players, if you’d like to light the fire under anyone.

Soldiers Vs Devils

3 – Chad Warner. Come on man, 39?!?!?! The first game rookie ruck for the Eagles(!) out did you
2 – Jake Lloyd
1 – Hayden Young

Pukekos Vs Chiefs

3 – Brad Scott. Only 58% game time for a rookie who actually looked like he cared about the game? That’s more than can be said for some of your veteran players
2 – Colby McKercher
1 – Ryley Sanders – where’s the third year break out? Or should Bevo be targeted (who am I kidding, it’s probably Bevo)

Vipers Vs Midnight

3 – The selection committee – Stephens the last minute call up to the squad, didn’t make the final 22 – would have been equal 1st in dangergawn votes had he played. Don’t think coach Nathan will leave him out next week.
2 – Tom Sparrow. Scared of the loud noises when he went near the ball, so flew as far away from it as he could
1 – Andy Brayshaw

Defenestrators Vs Sparkles

3 – Zach Reid. This was the guy you thought about trading for? Really?
2 – Elijah Hollands
1 – Archie Roberts. I have him in another league and I’m upset at this performance. Probably not Paul’s worst, but I don’t care, he makes the list

Roughnecks Vs MSHB

3 – Connor Blakely. About 6 years too late (still too soon), but still the most deserving 3 voter, worst on ground call, of this matchup.
2 – Dan Rioli
1 – Brody Grundy
